Destined to be more then a universal remote this app is designed to control AV equipment connected to a WiFi network without the need for expensive AV equipment like a Crestron or AMX controller and touch panel. There is no programming required to setup this app for use. All you need to do is select what devices you have that you want to control, name them and set the IP address and you are ready to play.

A basic interface is included to test devices but the strength of this app is the ability to create custom interfaces with button macros to control multiple devices and functions from a single button press and or flip between pages. The interface is created in the app so there is no hassle of downloading the interface onto the device.

Custom devices and their commands can also be defined and used in the custom interface. If it has a IP or RS-232 (via a Extron IP Link, Global Cache, or similar device) protocol it can be controlled. Global cache also has some IP to contact closure devices that can be defined as custom controls for projects.

Once your satisfied with your interface and settings you can save the system configuration to be reloaded if you reinstall Universal AV.

This app has been tested on a Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Tab 7 inch first generation, and a Epic 4G. If you have any issues with a different device please let me know and I will make it my first priority to fix the issue for you.

*The Pioneer VSX-30 does not support the network wake feature. This means you will need to manually turn it on or create a custom device to pass it through a IP to serial converter if you are a advanced user. For basic use once the receiver is on it will respond to commands. The other receivers support wake on lan but will need the feature turned on in the settings of the device.

**Some Sharp displays require going into the menu settings and enabling IP control in order for them to respond over IP. Also in the port setting set the port to 10002 if it asks for a port number.

***The Cisco C series VTC codecs require TCP communications to be enabled in the admin settings menu. Contact your network admin to ensure the VTC is properly configured.

****Enable quick start in the device settings menu to enable the power on command.

*****Requires a Global Cache and the IR repeater cable plugged into port 1.

Be sure to disable the energy savings features of all devices being controlled because the energy saving features turn off the network so they can't be turned back on by network commands.

This doesn't control AV devices over the internet or through cellular networks.

There is a license check. The app can run offline for 30 days between checks.
